Britney Spears Australian Lip-Synching Snafu - Michael Bublé Defends Michael Bublé has spoken out in defence of Britney Spears, saying the fuss over her lip-synching tour in Australia was grossly exaggerated. "You'd think she killed someone," he said. "OK, she lip-synchs her show, people know that. They make the decision if they want to go and see her do that." The Canadian singer, who is very popular in Australia, asked bluntly: "Does she deserve the way she’s been completely bashed by the media here? No." Spears's miming act has created a storm of controversy and soured her tour. She soldiered on, however, taking her children to the Sydney Aquarium and working her way through her tour dates. Bublé, who was in Australia to promote his album Crazy Love, also deadpanned: "Mind you, I lip-synch all my concerts. I’m the Milli Vanilli of jazz."

Melrose Place & Britney Spears, No Panties for Heather Locklear? Heather Locklear poked fun at Britney Spears for not wearing underwear during an interview. The Melrose Place star appeared on The Jay Leno show when the host asked her if she has ever been confused for another celebrity. Locklear, 48, said: "In 2000 I was on some kind of music awards show and I had long hair and people started cheering because they thought I was Britney Spears. But I think it was because I wasn't wearing any underwear!" Leno responded: "I'm not going to ask how they knew that." To which Locklear screamed: "I was wearing pants!" Locklear is reprising her role as Amanda Woodward in the Melrose Place remake on TV Tuesday. More talk show buzz...Meryl Streep was shocked when a talk-show host mistakenly told her that her daughter Grace had broken her leg. The actress was appearing on Live With Regis And Kelly and shrieked, “What? No. Oh my God!” when a confused Regis Philbin misread his cue card live on air. The veteran TV host had been supposed to congratulate Streep on her actress daughter getting “her big break” in the TV show Gigantic, but misread the cue card. After co-host Kelly quickly explained the error, Streep laughed loudly: “Oh my God, that was like a shot to my heart!”
