Britney Spears at Sydney International Airport - Fans Upset
Britney Spears left fans hugely disappointed at Sydney's international airport yesterday when she touched down without making a personal appearance. Instead, she was whisked straight to a private jet bound for Perth after completing her customs requirements in transit. Unlike the star, her crew (225 members, 45 band members and dancers and 15 circus performers) had to go through customs on the ground.
Later they sauntered about outside the airport buildings chatting and pulling dance moves for local media left high and dry by the Spears' no-show. The mother of one female teenage fan at the airport declared on national TV she thought it was "disgusting" that Spears could not make the time to step outside her jet-sealed celebrity bubble.
Some fans have spent $A1500 on a ticket to see the superstar. But Spears indicated she found the 13-hour journey challenging when she called it the longest flight ever in her Twitter post on the trip. Meanwhile, a Sydney paper made led on Spears' lip syncing.
"Spears, who arrived in Australia yesterday to launch her long-awaited Circus tour of 14 almost sold-out shows, performs little live material on stage, preferring to lip-sync and concentrate on theatrics and dancing," the Daily Telegraph reported.
